Years pass by in a blink and we don’t notice everything that changes around us. In fact, we don’t even notice how much we change. With this idea, photographer Josephine Sittenfeld created portraits of her college classmates that she took back in the year 2000.
At the time, she was a junior at Princeton University and photographed her friends on a medium-format film with the shots ending up in her parents’ closet. But last spring, when her fifteen-anniversary college reunion was taking place, she wanted to recreate the pictures during the event.
The result is “Reunion” – a bunch of before-and-after pictures that show the transformation of the individuals.
“At twenty, I felt something intangible, indescribable, full of energy,” Josephine’s former roommate said. “Only now am I able to describe it—the ultimate sensing of a life ahead.”
Check out these side-by-side snaps, with almost two decades in-between, with a certain maturity and relaxation shining through in the more recent ones. Kudos to Bored Panda!
