Finally, the official photos of the engagement between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been released! But they hide a secret message…
A picture speaks a thousand words.
The talented photographer behind the photos is Alexi Lubomirski, and the style in which he did the photos contains a special ingredient. As UNILAD reported, it’s a nod to Princess Diana, Harry’s late mother. The world knew her as “The People’s Princess.”
To make it even weirder, or, more special, Lubomirski learned his photography skills under the guidance of Mario Testino. For those who don’t know, Testino was the man who had the honor of taking the last official photo of Princess Diana. She died soon after her photos were taken by Testino, back in 1997. She was thirty-six.
Alexi, the photographer, was the protege of Mario Testino – Diana’s photographer.
And just like his mother, both Harry and Meghan are intent on continuing the humanitarian work that Princess Diana was so known for.
After doing the photo session, Lubomirski congratulated the royal couple on Instagram, saying:
A huge thank you to His Royal Highness Prince Harry and Ms Markle, for allowing me to take their official engagement portraits. Not only was it an incredible honour, but also an immense privilege to be invited to share and be a witness to this young couple’s love for each other. I cannot help but smile when I look at the photos that we took.”
Alexi is a master of his craft.

The photographer met his tutor, Testino, while working on his portfolio in London. The two became friends, and Alexi soon joined Mario in Paris to become his assistant.
It was Testino who took Kate Middleton and Prince William’s engagement photos too.
Kensington Palace also shared moments of the engagement on Instagram:
Prince Harry and Ms. Meghan Markle then visited the Nottingham Contemporary Exhibition Centre for an event to mark #WorldAidsDay hosted by @THTorguk. @THTorguk is the largest voluntary sector provider of HIV and sexual health services in the UK. A few weeks ago, Prince Harry visited the @THTorguk pop-up in East London to find out about their free, self-testing kits that people can use at home. Today HRH and Ms Markle learns how @THTorguk are working in Nottingham to provide support to people living with HIV and AIDS.
All in all, this was a subtle, but wonderful tribute to Princess Diana. Cheers! May they live happily ever after.
