Originally born in Glens Falls, New York, the 48-year-old chef has established herself as a very successful businesswoman and television personality. She has been the host of her own show Rachael Ray, as well as quite a few other TV shows on Food Network, particularly 30 Minute Meals, which aired from 2001-2012, perfectly showing off Rachael’s quick and easy cooking style.

1. Her TV career basically kicked off after teaching a class

A long time ago, Ray was working at a gourmet food shop in Albany, New York. When she was there, she decided to offer customers a class that promised a full meal in 30 minutes, or maybe even less. The shop couldn’t afford to hire professional chefs, she took over the class, and that’s how 30 Minute Meals, the show she’s quite well known for, was born.

2. She loves burgers

A dinner favorite of Rachael is a well-prepared piece of meat, especially a burger. And she’s very good at thinking of genius ways to prepare them.

3. She’s not a fan of measuring

She has admitted that she’s not the best baker in the world, due to her lack of patience to measure everything precisely.

4. She doesn’t have any formal training

Rachael apparently hasn’t had formal training for any job she has ever had. “I’m completely unqualified for any job I’ve ever had,” she said. It’s just proof you don’t need to be qualified to do the things you love.

5. ln high school, she was a cheerleader



Rachel actually cheered for her small town high school, located in upstate New York.

7. 1998 was the year when she published her first book



The book she published, 30 Minute Meals, was ultimately caught by The Today Show and landed her the TV deal with Food Network.
