Here’s Why You Should Love Rising Star Actor Nick Robinson

If you haven’t heard of Nick Robinson yet, you don’t know what you’ve been missing! Luckily, we are here to remedy that situation and bring you up to date with one of the most amazing up-and-coming actors of the modern day. The 22-year-old is starring in the lead role of Love, Simon, a teen romance dramedy, slated for release on March 16, 2018. Based on Becky Albertalli’s novel Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda, the movie also features 13 Reasons Why actors Katherine Langford and Miles Heizer. It’s a coming-of-age story about Simon Spier, a 17-year-old boy who is secretly gay. After falling in love with a classmate online, he’s trying to figure out who the mystery guy is. But then his emails fall into the wrong hands, and all sorts of drama ensues as now he’s being blackmailed.

This film has got all the ingredients to be a huge success and it’s sure to win Nick Robinson a whole legion of adoring fans. But this isn’t his first rodeo, as the talented youngster has already starred in several well-known movies and TV series. 1. Melissa & Joey


Nick played the role of Ryder, Mel’s nephew. The ABCFamily (now Freeform) sitcom ran for four seasons from 2010 to 2015, and Nick’s role as one of the four main characters is definitely a noteworthy one.

2. Frenemies


Frenemies is a Disney Channel Original Movie that saw Nick co-starring with Zendaya and Bella Thorne. The film, which premiered in 2012, is an anthology. It tells three separate stories, one of which was about Jake, played by Robinson, and his BFF dog, Murray.

3. The Kings of Summer


In 2013, Nick played the main role in The Kings of Summer, an indie comedy-drama that also starred Moises Arias (Rico from Hannah Montana), Lili Reinhart (Betty from Riverdale) and Nick Offerman (Ron Swanson from Parks and Recreation). Nick’s character was called Joe. He and his two best friends decide to go off into the forest, build a house there and live off the land. And that’s when all hell breaks loose.

4. The 5th Wave


In the 2016 sci-fi epic The 5th Wave, Nick worked alongside Chloe Grace Moretz. Nick’s Ben had a huge crush on Chloe’s Cassidy when they went to school together. Now, amidst an alien invasion, the two of them team up to find Cassie’s brother in an action-packed and suspense-filled flick.

5. Jurassic World


The latest installment in the Jurassic franchise, Jurassic World, is also featured on the young actor’s resume. In the film, Nick played teenager Zach, who, along with his little brother, went to visit their aunt Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard), the manager of the Jurassic World theme park. The combination of dinosaurs and Chris Pratt, who played the lead role, was bound to be a success from the word go.

6. Being Charlie


This is the movie that truly gave Nick Robinson a chance to shine. His performance as 18-year-old Charlie, a boy with substance abuse issues, is amazingly real. Sent to rehab to get better, Charlie falls in love with a girl called Eva. So, now he has to deal with his addiction, his unstable relationship, and his parents’ expectations at the same time.

7. Everything, Everything


The year 2017 saw Nick star in the lead role in a romantic drama film. The film tells the love story of Olly and Maddy (Amandla Stenberg). Because of a rare illness, she can’t leave her home, and Olly, her neighbor will do anything to help her. The two of them fall in love, but their romance is anything but smooth sailing. Prepare some tissues when you sit down to watch this film – it will hit you right in the feels.
