It’s been a long time since we saw Jessica Biel in the family drama series 7th Heaven, but she has come back in a series that will freeze your blood! Biel plays the young mother Cora Tannetti in the new American drama series, The Sinner. Cora is overcome by a fit of rage and commits a public act of violence but is totally unaware of it.
Biel is also the executive producer of the series, and her character, together with the detective, try to find out the hidden motive behind her aggressive acts. It does seem like an interesting show to watch, at least for those who like to be shocked.
Just when you thought that a few beheadings could be the most violent a show can get, here comes The Sinner, being a different form of violent, and so intense. The recent premiere of the new show, on August 2, has caused much of its audience to turn away. Viewers have reported it was hard for them to make it through a single episode. It premiered on the USA Network and the first episode was harrowing and brutal for many. The Illusionist star perfectly portrayed the young mother and successful businesswoman whose quiet life gets disrupted.
Cora has sudden violent tendencies and Detective Harry Ambrose, played by Bill Pullman, becomes obsessed with her case. As the show will go on, we will find out what is truly going on.
The show, however, has had a phenomenal response so far. It had a 7.8 out of 10 rating on IMDb and a 93 per cent score on Rotten Tomatoes. The internet was shocked, or rather astonished after the first episode.
The show is actually based on the best-selling novel of the same name by Petra Hammesfahr. This book was released in 2007. Hopefully, book fans will not give away any spoilers until the mini-series is finished.
There are seven more episodes to go in the mini-series, and the viewers are eager to see the mystery resolved.
