After being shot in the head by a gunman, while attending a music festival in Las Vegas, Tina Frost, 27, ended up in a coma. About two weeks later, she woke up and with some help, took her first steps.
According to Business Insider, Tina Frost was attending the Route 91 Harvest festival with her friends and boyfriend, when suddenly, 64-year-old Stephen Paddock opened fire on visitors from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino.
Reportedly, Mary Watson Moreland, informed everyone through her GoFundMe page, that her daughter’s condition is stable, but her right eye was removed due to fact that the bullet pierced the frontal lobes of her brain.
According to ABC, Tina, along with the help from the nurses, made a few steps to the chair and back to her bed. She also managed to breathe on her own for about six hours.
The same source informed ABC that Tina opens her left eye, looks around the room, manages to tap her feet when she hears music and can also squeeze hands.
They also added that although Tina can’t talk, she can answer her boyfriend Austin’s questions by raising her thumb. What is important is that she has the will and eagerness to get back on her feet as soon as possible.
Tina Frost has had a lot of support during the process of her recovery. She got a rare science teddy bear by EY San Diego. Even the Jabbawockeez, an American hip-hop dance crew paid her a visit to the hospital.
The source added: “The doctors have been talking about Tina’s next steps and are discussing other hospitals that will have all the specialists she’ll need…”. They continued the report by saying: “Tina’s Neurosurgeon here at Sunrise is making sure that the facility Tina will be at next meets all the requirements she will need, both short terms and long term…”.
According to ABC, the GoFundMe campaign had already raised the amount of $540,000 by Sunday morning, which means it raised a lot more than its original goal of $50,000.
Tina Frost also received an enormous support from her high school friends, who managed to hold a separate fundraiser in Maryland on Saturday, to raise funds intended for her recovery.
What is important is that Tina Frost is getting better and better within each day, with the help and support from her friends and family, as well as a lot of other people.
