It’s the 18th edition of Coachella Valley Music and Arts, and the first weekend of the festival brought a new hairstyle that stakes its claim to take over the festival scene in the future. It’s ‘space bun’ and models Jess Hart and Poppy Delevingne were among the hundreds of people who sported it from the 14th till the 16th of April in the Colorado Desert.
It looks like the hippie styles that have been iconic staples of music festivals ever since Woodstock, such as flower crowns and chokers finally have some serious competition.
Inspired in part by the iconic Princess Leia from Star Wars whose double buns have gone down in history, and in part reminiscent of Minnie and Mickey Mouse’s ears, space buns epitomize everything that’s great about an outdoor festival: freedom, carefreeness, and fun.
Whether it’s braided hair made into buns, a half-up-half-down hairdo, or two straightforward bouncy buns, this style can be both complicated and carefully laid out, or completely fuss-free and look insanely cool in both cases.
Check out the gorgeous space buns that have marked the first weekend of Coachella 2017.

There’s still half of the festival to go, as Coachella continues from the 21st till the 23rd of April. That means there’s plenty more space buns to come, or perhaps another hairstyle is going to take over the Valley this coming weekend?
