The Spice Girls Reunion Is Officially Back On, Following A Not-So-Happy Event

The ‘Wannabe’ stars were the list of idols for many (young) ladies around the world. The ’90s generation would know what I’m talking about. Spice Girls were utterly famous and their TV and concerts appearances were major events in these people’s lives. They started as an English girl pop group back in 1994. The group originally consisted of Melanie Brown (“Scary Spice”), Melanie Chisholm (“Sporty Spice”), Emma Bunton (“Baby Spice”), Geri Halliwell (“Ginger Spice”), and Victoria Beckham, née Adams (“Posh Spice”). They released their debut single “Wannabe” in 1996, which hit number one in 37 countries. The group has sold 85 million records worldwide making them the best-selling female group of all time, one of the best-selling pop groups of all time, and the biggest British pop phenomenon since Beatlemania. But after the split-up and the rumor of their reunion, they are officially said to be coming back and we can’t wait!

This is excellent news for all the fans out there. Last year, in 2016, Scary, Baby, and Ginger were planning a reunion in honor of the 20th anniversary of “Wannabe”. Also, they had a great concert planned at London’s Hyde Park. However, the plans were ruined after Ginger backed out because of the birth of her second baby. Page Six reports that the reunion is back on, due to some bittersweet circumstances, apparently.

Mel B, or once known as Scary Spice, recently split with her husband of ten years, Stephen Belafonte. He is reported to have a “controlling attitude”, according to Page Six. Could this near divorce be good news for the new reunion thing? Horner confirmed it. saying: “We’re not re-forming immediately, but in the near future.”

Sadly, like last time, Posh and Sporty declined to sign in, but the excitement is still huge. Hopefully, however, their reunion plans will come true in the near future, just like they said.
