The Spice Girls were just about everyone’s favorite brand in the nineties and personally, I wasn’t very happy when they split up. But there is some exciting news about all true fans out there: according to reports, all five members of the English pop group originally formed in 1994 including Victoria Beckham will reunite for a TV special and an album sometime in 2018.
You read it right!
After years of rumors, the girls are finally getting back together! Mel C, VB, Mel C, Geri Horner and Emma Bunton are set to reunite almost a decade and a half after they were initially selected through an extensive auditioning process by management duo Bob and Chris Herbert.
The sensational news is largely down to Melanie C aka Sporty Spice, who had been working on plans for the TV special and album with the girls’ former boss.
A source told The Sun: “The five of them have been locked in secret talks since the summer, and finally they are all on-board for a 2018 reunion.”
“As it stands, they will be working together on a series of projects, which will include an album and a TV special celebrating the Spice Girls,” the insider revealed.
“And getting Victoria to agree has been a coup for everyone involved, given she has always been the person holding back on a reunion.”
The fans immediately went wild with nineties nostalgia on social media.
The group was first formed in 1994 but split up in 2000 after three studio albums. A global phenomenon, the band has sold 85 million records worldwide, which makes them the best-selling female group of all time. They last performed together at the 2012 Olympics closing ceremony in London.
