Stag Night Mistake Led To A Man Removing His Tattoo For Two Years

Bachelor parties, or stag nights, can be full of surprising events. Just think of the movie Hangover and you might get the idea of what drunk grooms-to-be can get up to the night before their wedding. Absolutely anything can happen at stag dos, but one man from Swansea, South Wales, never imagined the evening would culminate with him eventually getting a tattoo. The man woke up the next day after a stag night in the English coastal town of Blackpool, only to find himself with a pair of fake sunglasses tattoos on his face. He then spent two years trying to remove them.

The anonymous man apparently had no memory of actually getting the tattoo.

“I had no memory of getting the tattoo because I had gone out celebrating and it happened when I was drunk,” said the 50-something, who spoke to MailOnline, but didn’t want to be named.

“Waking up the morning after, I thought someone had used a permanent marker on my face. When I first came home, obviously I was subject to a lot of stares, but I kind of got used to the tattoo and decided not to get rid of it.”

Although he didn’t remember getting it, the tattoo was quite real. It even included the name of sunglasses brand Ray-Ban.

“The next morning I really started to think about what my family and friends thought,” he said. “I didn’t want them to be embarrassed when they were out with me. So I decided there and then I was going to get it removed.”

Once he made a decision, he started visiting the 1192 Laser and Beauty Clinic in Swansea. His doctor, the clinic’s owner Donnalee Alford, said it was one of the worst tattoo mistakes she had ever seen.

Nowadays, after six treatments, the man still has some turquoise marks around his eyes, but he was told these would eventually disappear.

“All I can say is that the whole process was amazing,” the man said. “There is no scarring, and when friends come over, they always notice something is different.”

Think twice before going to the next stag night!
