The environmentalist Steve Irwin will be honored for his work on television on the prestigious Hollywood Walk of Fame with a star. He was a pioneer for the wildlife industry and worked closely with his parents on their wildlife refuge in Australia. Then expanded it after he took over the establishment.
The adventurous wildlife warrior died while he was making the documentary, Ocean’s Deadliest, after being stabbed in the chest by a stingray barb during underwater filming on the Great Barrier Reef.
Steve was also known as the Crocodile Hunter where he helped spare creatures from death and danger by relocating them to safer areas. He championed for animals that were endangered and along with his wife Terri, rehabilitated injured creatures.
People will always remember his flamboyant demeanor, jovial nature, his love for animals and the television series The Crocodile Hunter.
Now he will be honored with a star in the Hollywood Walk of Fame and his family was thrilled when they found out their legendary husband and dad would be memorized with a significant tribute.
His wife Terri said about the news:
“Steve has always said that he didn’t care if anyone remembered him, as long as they remembered his message,” she said.
“I truly believe that this recognition for Steve’s achievements will ensure that his message of wildlife conservation is remembered.”
His daughter Bindi was also excited to see his father’s work being recognized in America.
“Dad changed the world by reaching out to people through their television screens,” she said.
The family gathered around a laptop, watching a touching video being informed about the wonderful news about the star. Robert is heard saying “that’s amazing!” while Bindi and Terri scream and jump for joy. Terri then took to Twitter to share the good news.
