Do you remember the brave 7 and 1/2 -year-old California boy who was bullied by other schoolkids because he spent two years growing his blond hair to donate it to cancer patients? This charming second grader is now fighting for his life. Since May, Vinny Desautels has been diagnosed with the same disease he was trying to help other children fight.
“I want to help people, so they don’t have to go to the doctors to fight cancer,” Vinny explained.
He grew his hair over 13 inches and bravely ignored the children who teased him that he looked like a girl.
“During that time, he was mistaken for a girl many times, but Vinny took it like a champ and was like, ‘Nah, I’m a boy,’” his father Jason, a combat veteran, said.
Sadly after he cut off his long blond hair to donate to “wigs for kids with cancer”, Vinny was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer.
