Growing your hair out can be a long, time-consuming process. I mean, how many times did you cry over impulse cuts, when you love your short hair for a week and then realizing that you miss the luscious locks?

Even though it is a slow process, growing your hair long sooner without adding chemicals is possible. You can achieve it on your own without using serious chemicals that may harm your hair. There are a lot of ways to do it, but the most important thing is to get started and be hopeful.

1. Brush When Dry

Even though it is easier to brush it when it’s wet, that may cause breakage from the root or middle. This is what you should avoid if you want to grow healthy locks. Your hair is much stronger when dry so take good care of it then. Brushing it before you go to bed will encourage growth.

2. Don’t wash your hair on a daily basis

If you wash it daily, you are damaging the natural oils around your scalp. These oils will be removed if you are overdoing it. Less washing promotes the creation of healthy natural oils and growth as well.

3. Eat Better

A healthy diet brings you healthier hair. This is so because your hair is made of protein, and you are basically feeding your hair with it. This means eating fish, eggs, leafy greens, and pumpkins as well.

4. Avoid Sugar

This is probably the hardest one to follow, as sugar is almost everywhere. If you consume it too much, you will destroy collagen and keratin, which are needed for hair growth. Collagen strengthens, so it is best to cut down on eating sugar.

5. Heat doesn’t have to mean hot

Try to use heat as little as possible. Let it dry out naturally and cut down on using your curling iron every once in a while.

6. Oil and Condition

Conditioning or oil treatment is amazing if you do it on a regular basis. You can do these treatments before or after washing. Add fatty acids on your hair with argan, coconut, jojoba, olive, or castor oil.

7. Inverted Massages

No, this is not a yoga pose. It’s a way of massaging your scalp. You just need to sit in a chair and bend over until your head is lower than your heart. Then massage to increase blood flow. It will improve circulation and growth.

8. Trim

You should regularly do a trim to promote a healthy growth of your hair. Don’t leave split ends unattended.



9. No Hot Water Washes

This one is hard on a cold winter night, but once you get used to it, your locks will be thankful. Hot water is bad for your skin and hair, as it leads to dryness. Instead, you should use warm water, and also cold water in the end of your shower, if you can. Cold water will make your hair super shiny.
