Study Reveals Chubby Guys With ‘Dad Bodies’ Are Most Attractive To Women

Ideal men in the past used to be huge dudes with biceps and merciless kings, but what about nowadays? Do women prefer men who are skinny, or do they crave for chubby guys?

Before you jump to your own conclusions, here are the results of a study. Apparently, a new study reveals that the desire for muscular men may be out of fashion. Instead, they may now be replaced by chubby guys. Wait, what?

This may sound like a bad dream, but it’s just the result of a study and science has got its back.

Planet Fitness conducted an anonymous online study of over 2,000 American men and women, earlier this year. They were trying to discover what these people considered as the most attractive body type. Surprisingly, the survey showed that seven out of 10 women were more attracted to men carrying up to 20 pounds of extra weight. Shocking, right? Additionally, according to a 2015 article in the Washington Post, 37 per cent of American men aged 20 – 54 match this physical description. It seems like the ‘dad bodies’ are all around!

This interesting survey also found another interesting fact. Around 78 percent of women believed tubbier men were more confident in their own skin. That’s not all! Four out of five moms said that they would be proud to be married to someone who cut a more fatherly figure.

This attraction is not only aesthetic, but biological, too. Some research has shown that there may be a biological reason why heterosexual women are more drawn to chubbier guys.

An anthropology professor at Yale University, Richard Bribiescas, has found that chubbier men may be healthier than gym-bro types. This is because when men gain weight, they decrease their level of testosterone, and that leads to a stronger immune system. That also means a longer lifespan, fellas!

“This change in body composition not only causes men to shop for more comfortable trousers but also facilitates increased survivorship and, hypothetically, a hormonal milieu that would more effectively promote and support paternal investment,” Bribiescas explains.

In short, chunky men make better dads. It makes sense that younger women will go for men with more outstanding physiques. However, those looking to settle down in a relationship are less concerned about the same thing.

However, you shouldn’t forget that even though having a ‘dad body’ means marriage material for some women, regular exercise is crucial. It is of utmost importance to stay healthy and fit!

Here are some interesting statements that prove how men fail to understand women.
