When it comes to Hollywood legends, Sylvester Stallone’s name is right there among the greatest stars who have ever lived. Ever since the beginnings of his career back in the ’70s, Stallone has been the leading man in a number of hit movies, including franchises Rocky and Rambo, and more recently The Expendables. The 71-year-old has directed, written, and starred in his fair share of flops as well, but these are insignificant when compared to the successes. All in all, it’s fair to say that the actor has managed to ensure himself and his family a more than comfortable life as part of the Hollywood elite.
But his life hadn’t always been so easy. In fact, before getting his big break with Rocky in 1976, Stallone had quite a rough time finding work and paying his rent. He even slept in a bus terminal for three weeks! Stallone wrote the script for Rocky himself and the story of the underdog is a reflection of the actor’s life at that point. This movie was what would either make him or break him: in the end, it turned out to be a huge success, it received 10 Academy Award nominations, winning three, and it launched Stallone into stardom.
Thus started Stallone’s career in the film industry, a career that still goes strong to this day. Thanks to this success, the actor has secured the future of his children and has smoothed the way for them to follow their own dreams.
Stallone has been married three times. His first marriage was to Sasha Czack. The couple had two sons, Sage, who died of a heart attack at the age of 36, and Seargeoh. In 1985, he got a divorce and married model and actress Brigitte Nielsen. This marriage lasted only two years. Stallone and model and businesswoman Jennifer Flavin tied the knot in 1997 and they have three daughters together: Sophia, Sistine and Scarlet.
They are now all grown up: Sophia is 21, Sistine is 19, and Scarlet is 15. All three of them are pursuing careers in modeling.
The three girls are often featured on their parents Instagram pages. Watching his movies, you might think Sylvester is as tough as old leather, but when it comes to his family he’s got a really sensitive side which he shows in his loving Instagram posts. He delights in embarrassing his daughters, especially the youngest, Scarlet, with awful dad-jokes!
But the Stallone sisters have started having success of their own as well.
All three were honored as Miss Golden Globes at last year’s award ceremony, and they also posed together for Harper’s Bazaar fashion magazine.
At only 21, Sophia was a guest judge on the 16th season of Project Runway, Heidi Klum’s fashion design reality show. Sophia and Sistine did a Dolce & Gabbana campaign that drew on their Italian roots as it took place in Bari in southern Italy. Both sisters are also studying at the University of Southern California, and Scarlet in still in high school.
Even if all three Stallone sisters have tried their hand at modeling, Sistine is the one who’s followed most closely in her model mother’s footsteps. She has been signed by IMG models and she was featured on Teen Vogue magazine when she was only 16 years old. Who knows what the future holds for these girls, but if it’s true that the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, then they are definitely destined for greatness.
