I’m sure a lot of you have used a tape measure before. It’s that tool that has a roll of metal inside of it that can extend and show you the measurements of certain items. Well, that’s the simpler explanation, anyway.
If you’re an avid DIYer, then a tape measure is an all-important tool in your arsenal, but did you know that this tool hides a few more secrets (in plain sight) than you might think? Here’s a video shot on a camera from the early 2000s that shows you some of them!
The video, uploaded about 2 years ago by YouTube channel SeeJaneDrill shows off 4 tricks that you can do with tape measures. I won’t spoil it too much, but these were my personal favorites.
The hole on the end
This can be used to hook something and makes measuring stuff on a wall much easier. It also allows you to be more accurate with your measurements.
The serrated edge
This can be used to mark stuff to make it easier to stick the measure in there.
