Former socialite Tara Palmer-Tomkinson has passed away, aged 45.
The tragic news that she was found dead in her West London apartment came amid worried reports that she hadn’t been seen by anyone for at least a week.
For years she has been struggling with addiction, loneliness and anxiety. The death is considered unexplained but there are no grounds for suspicion.
Three months ago, Tomkinson revealed that she had been diagnosed with a non-malignant brain tumor and an auto-immune disease. The predictions for her recovery were optimistic, but Tomkinson reportedly had other health problems and was losing weight for 18 months before embarking on the right treatment.
At that point, she believed that she had the situation under control with medication and admitted to “feeling very lucky”.
The Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall were close family friends of Tara Palmer-Tomkinson.
Tomkinson was a former London socialite with a history of a rock ‘n’ roll lifestyle in the 1990s. Her wealthy background and connections to royalty solidified her as the ultimate IT girl. No event was worth talking about if she wasn’t at it. Events where she was famous for her eccentric, eye-catching outfits and gossip inducing antics. For a while, she had her own tabloid column, where she shared her experiences among London’s elite and wrote about her glamorous lifestyle. In 2002, she participated in ‘I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here’, a favorite British reality TV show.
Rest in peace T P-T.
