The Harry Potter franchise is easily one of the most popular movie series of all time. It all began in 2001 with the release of the first installment Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. Based on J. K. Rowling’s novels of the same title, the movie was an instant hit, and over the next ten years seven more were made, culminating with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 (2011). The story about The Boy Who Lived and his two faithful sidekicks, Ron and Hermione, has gone straight into our hearts and it’s there to stay.

1. Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter)
Daniel Jacob Radcliffe was born on July 23, 1989, in London, England. His first role was in BBC television film David Copperfield in 1999. Apart from movies, like the sci-fi Victor Frankenstein (2015), and comedy-drama Swiss Army Man (2016), he has starred in many theatre productions, including the Broadway musical How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. Radcliffe has also received recognition for his charitable work.

Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson was born on April 15, 1990, in Paris, France. The role of Hermione was her first professional acting job. Since then she has worked on numerous films, including epic biblical drama Noah (2014) alongside Russell Crowe, and the live-action adaptation of Beauty and the Beast (2017), where she played the lead character. 3. Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley)
Rupert Alexander Lloyd Grint was born on August 24, 1988, in Essex, England. Before his breakout role in Harry Potter, he had performed only in school plays and local theaters. Outside of the Harry Potter franchise, he has collaborated with Bill Nighy and Emily Blunt on the comedy Wild Target (2010), and has even done a bit of voice acting in Postman Pat: The Movie (2014).
4. Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy)
Thomas Andrew Felton was born on September 22, 1987, in Epsom, England. He first started acting in commercials at the age of 8. Felton starred in the critically acclaimed period drama Belle (2013), and had a recurring role on CW series The Flash (2014). He is also a musician and has released a few singles.
5. Helena Bonham Carter (Bellatrix Lestrange)
Helena Bonham Carter was born on May 26, 1966, in Islington, London. She started her extremely successful career in 1986 with the role of the title character in Lady Jane, and has since started in a great number of popular movies, such as Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (2007), Dark Shadows (2012), and Alice in Wonderland (2010). In 2012, she was was made a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) for services to drama.

9. Maggie Smith (Minerva McGonagall)

In 2013, they currently split their time between the UK and the USA.
11. Matthew Lewis (Neville Longbottom)

John Marwood Cleese was born on October 27, 1939 in Somerset, England. The actor, comedian, screenwriter and a producer is best known for co-founding the comedy troupe Monty Python in the late 60s. Even at 78 years of age, Cleese is still working and taking on small parts.
