3 Things That Can Happen To Your Body When You Skip A Shower

How often do you shower? Some do it twice a day, some do it on a daily basis, but some tend to neglect it and not shower for days. Which one is best for the skin? Neglecting your shower time can sometimes be dangerous for the health: from infections to various skin problems, this can become a life-long issue. The philosophy is beyond simple. Just focus on your hygiene on a daily basis and make sure you don’t exaggerate. Here are some problems that might pop up if you skip that shower.

I’m sure you all have that one friend who is smelly and has no idea about it. On the other hand, there is one friend who always smells like a new shampoo but often gets sick. Hygiene is important, but you need to know where and how to balance. Here are some problems that might occur if you don’t shower on a regular basis.

1. Infections

Your body is full of bacteria and fungus all the time, and that’s normal. But a lot of them are not there only to help your body, but to spread infections as well. When your dirty habits take over, so do the bad germs, and this can eventually lead to infections. Staph, ringworm, viruses, and other unwanted microbes can invade your skin, as well as your eyes, mouth, and nose. Be careful and shower regularly!

2. You become smelly

No one is telling you to buy the most expensive body wash out there, but you need to shower for the sake of smell, too. Otherwise, you will end up smelling like onions and who knows what. Don’t skip that shower too often!

3. Skin issues

Unchecked buildup on the skin contributes to conditions like acne, eczema, rosacea, and psoriasis. Skipping showers can also lead to growths of plaque on the skin called dermatitis neglecta – lesions that result from not cleaning yourself. Sweat, dirt, dead skin cells, oil, and other elements will build on your skin, bringing complications.

According to dermatologists, you don’t have to bathe twice a day or even daily. However, it’s important to pay attention to certain body areas. These include the groin, armpits, feet, and face. Also, you don’t really need fancy bathing products, but some warm water and a simple soap. These will do wonders for your skin.

Interestingly, too much bathing can strip the skin of its good bacteria and natural oils. This may result in cracks, dryness, or irritation, so stick to something that works best for your skin.
