Hi everyone, meet Irene Crump and Phyllis Jones the twin sisters who just celebrated their 100th birthday. They were born only 25 minutes apart in 1916. The duo went to the same school, did the same first jobs and now they live together in Stourbridge, Worcestershire.
They have recently celebrated their 100th birthday with a Sunday roast and 48 friends and family members.
“We often celebrate our special birthdays together, and we had a lovely day,” Irene, the younger of the two said. “We celebrated our 90th together, and last year we celebrated our 99th birthday too. Hard work and good food is our secret, that’s all I can put it down to.”
Instead of gifts, they requested a donation for the air ambulance and they did pretty well.
“We haven’t got all the money in yet, but we think we’ve done pretty well, it’s a cause close to our heart,” Irene said. Awww, so generous.
