There are a lot of people out there who believe that getting older means turning in your youth card. Apparently, there is a list of what you should “never” wear after you turn 30. Clothes which are no longer deeed appropriate to your third decade…Bah! We’re here to tell you that it’s okay to continue wearing a mini skirt after 30 because it is not a death sentence, actually a lot of people think that your thirties are the best years of your life. Finally you are totally comfortable in your own skin and you own your style – now you’re supposed to get all conservative…boo to the naysayers!
After sourcing the list of what you shouldn’t wear, I have a few thoughts and one of them is that this advice is totally garbage.
One thing that was brought up was that women should stop wearing blue eyeshadow and glitter. What? I mean seriously, we live in a world where colorful eyeshadow never looked better thanks to all the beauty bloggers teaching us how to cut crease and blend.
If you’re all about the glitter too, just go ahead. Now, leopard print was another item that you shouldn’t be wearing after 29 years old.
I also guess that turning 30 means that you have to toss out any graphic tee you own. Sad!
I could say now that no one should be wearing a shirt that reads “I heart tacos” after you’re 13. How does that make you feel?
It’s not a crime to wear short skirts or dresses no matter how old you are as long as nothing is hanging out.
Bodycon dresses also are not against the law after 30.
Wear that dress like your life depends on it.
If you are obsessed with pink underwear too, you should totally wear it. Forever 21 often has amazing deals on jeans and the clothes are less expensive than the “adult” shops.
But, hoop earrings are also an issue if you’re older than 20? I hoop if I want!
If people really started to take these lists seriously than everybody would throw away their oversized glasses. But for real now, don’t you dare get rid of them. They are so fun and amazing !
Tube tops too? Not everyone starts sagging when they hit 30 but what if they do? They’re cute as hell!
Believe me when I say, never stop wearing low-rise jeans.
And of course, those boyfriend jeans never go out of style. Take that opportunity!
The point is that all you have to do is wear the right size. So, if you feel comfortable wearing something just go for it. Don’t worry about what people think or about these lists your 30 and you’re amazing!
The best part about getting older is that you decide what’s appropriate and what’s not.
