12 Cancer Symptoms Women Shouldn’t Ignore


Unfortunately, even though we have so much information at our disposal, we don’t know a lot about cancer. It often has no specific signals but it is really important not to ignore certain signals that our body might be sending us. It is always better to be aware of our body’s changes since they could be warning signs of cancer. Similar to almost every other disease, it is always better to detect it earlier.

Many women choose to neglect their health and the signs their body sends them, thinking that “it can wait” or “it’s nothing serious.” We are all responsible for our own health so, if you discover any changes in your body, don’t hesitate to visit your doctor immediately.

1. Changes in the breasts


No excuses. If you can spend a lot of money on many beautiful bras, you can also spend it for taking care of your health. And, taking care of your health is crucial. So, even though getting a mammogram sounds scary it can only help you and not harm you. Schedule an appointment with your gynecologist if you notice changes in your breast such as redness of the nipples, dimpled skin, inverted nipples or discharge of liquid from the nipples.

2. Bloating


It is normal to feel your stomach bloated before period, since it is a typical premenstrual syndrome. However, if you notice that this continues for longer period of time and it accompanied by bleeding it can be a warning sign.

3. Vomiting


It is normal to have difficulties swallowing if you have a throat infection. If this continues and is accompanied by vomiting it can be a serious sign, so get a barium X-ray done to rule out throat cancer.

4. Fever


Fever is one of the most common symptoms for many diseases, but it can also be an early signal of leukemia or blood cancer. Especially, if it is accompanied by joint pain, weight loss or sweating all night. Yeah, sounds like the flu, but if it’s not going anywhere, make sure to get an appointment.

5. Sudden weight loss


Many of us are trying to lose weight with dieting or working out. But, if you start losing weight without any effort, it can be a warning indicator. Sudden weight loss in a short period of time without physical activity could be a sign of pancreatic cancer.

6. Heartburn



You shouldn’t just ignore heartburn since it could be a indicator of stomach cancer.

7. Bleeding in between menstrual cycle


If you are bleeding in between your  menstrual cycle or after menopause it could be s warning sign. The regular bleeding between periods could be a case of endometrial cancer.

8. Change in the color of your skin


Multicolored and large moles with irregular edges could be cancerous. If you notice any change of size of the mole or the color of your skin you should get checked for skin cancer.

9. Cough



Persistent cough or even spit of blood can be signal for cancer of the lungs or neck. You should visit a doctor if the cough continues for more than one month or is accompanied by blood.

10. Bloody stool


Bloody stool or blood in your pee can be serious indicators of cancer of the bladder or the kidney.

11. Patchy mouth

Red or white patches inside the mouth or on the lips can be indicators for oral cancer. So, if you notice patches on your lips or inside your mouth get yourself checked.

12. Swollen lymph nodes


You shouldn’t ignore any kind of knot in any part of your body. If a lump or swelling lasts more than one month you should visit your doctor and get it checked.

Ladies, now you know. It is never better to ignore a signal that your body is trying to send. So, if you notice any of these signs do not ignore it and prevent unnecessary complications.
