A 5-year-old YouTube star, Anastasia Radzinskaya has been ranked number three in YouTube’s earners by making $18 million per year, according to Forbes. On the list of The Highest-Paid YouTube Stars of 2019, she left behind fellow YouTubers like makeup guru Jeffree Star and video gamer PewDiePie.
But, who is this little media star and how did it all start? Anastasia, who goes by Nastya or Stacy for her viewers, is from southern Russia and currently has 107 million subscribers across her seven channels who have watched her videos 42 billion times.
It all started after she was diagnosed with cerebral palsy, which is a group of disorders that affect the ability of a person to move and maintain balance and posture. The doctors feared she would never be able to speak, but Anastasia’s parents started documenting her development through treatments. They shared videos of her on YouTube so relatives and friends could see the progress. She slowly started to gain more popularity over time.
Her YouTube videos show her playing and doing typical kids stuff with her parents, such as visiting the petting zoo with her father, which has since become her most viewed video with over 767 million views online.
What’s unique about her videos is that most of them rely on sounds rather than words. For more, the videos of a minimal amount of spoken words are also translated into 7 different languages. Thus, her popularity has helped Anastasia to garner a whopping $18 million in just one year with 107 million subscribers total across all platforms.
According to Forbes, this amazing little girl has six-figure sponsorship deals with both Dannon and Legoland, but could soon face a decline in earnings. That’s because YouTube is currently working with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) to limit the revenue possibilities for children-focused channels because they have potentially violated the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act rule.
Getting back to The Highest-Paid YouTube Stars of 2019, the one who ranked first on the list was the eight-year-old Ryan Kaji with $26 million. Whereas, the second on the list was Dude Perfect with $26 million.
Different from Anastasia, Kaji has gained his popularity by reviewing popular toys for kids. Now, he also performs science experiments for his viewers. Except for YouTube, Kaji also earns money through his show on Nickelodeon and a deal through the streaming service Hulu.
The kids are killing it, right?
