3. Hot Stone Massage

As the name itself implies this type of massage entails smooth volcanic stones that have been heated prior to the message. This is not a relaxation message method either. It is designed for those who have chronic aches or muscle knots. Therapists of this method apply deep pressure onto broader points of the body in order to reach the deepest layers of muscle. The pressure used in this method is deliberate and quite intense. It can leave you with sore muscles afterwards. Therefore if you’re feeling too much pain during this massage therapy, you should let your therapist know, so they can slow down.


7. Trigger Point Massage

Trigger point massage, unlike deep-tissue massage, is ideal for the pain that comes from very specific areas on your body. This type of massage is best suited for people who have injuries, chronic pain, or a specific issue or condition. In this technique, the therapist finds the spot that is causing more problems and applies pressure to relax those muscles.
