She’s touched the hearts of many people around the world with her writing and now I’m convinced that she’ll do the same with you. Margaritë, or Magi for short, grew up in New York City but has Albanian roots, which she maintains a strong connection with. Camaj works as a New York State Attorney, while also embracing her passion with words and music. Her collection of works feature 7 self-published pieces of literature, and she’s been writing since she was 7 years old.
Her background also includes a Bachelor’s degree in History, Spanish and Theology, which I’m guessing by now you can pretty much tell that her writings will be an exceptional read for you. That’s why we’ve selected a compilation of her most touching quotes about love and life itself. MetDaan was also given the opportunity to interview Margaritë as well, giving us her insightful thoughts on how our lives can be perceived in the sense of human emotion and relationships with other people.
“I fell in love with words when I was just 7 years old. I can remember the exact moment when I picked up a pen and my notebook and I started to write. I wrote about my feelings and I started to write poems, although, at the time, my poems were very simple. Music plays a huge role in me becoming a writer. I was always big on lyrics. I have always deeply analyzed the words of every song. Certain songs have even explained how I felt at certain moments. They spoke to me in ways that not much else could. They made me feel something. That was important,” revealed Camaj.
“As I grew older, words continuously grew with me. I realized that words were everything to me. It was the best way that I knew how to express myself. I wrote whenever I had the chance, about anything. I wrote about all kinds of topics. But, my favorite topic was always love. I remember reading Wuthering Heights, by Emily Brontë. That book has some of my favorite quotes that I can even recite by memory.”
“That is how much of an impact it has had on me. It opened my mind and my heart up even further. I knew that I wanted to make others feel powerful emotions, too. I wanted someone to read my words and be impacted,” said the Albanian-American writer.
She spoke to MetDaan about how her thought process as a writer affects the way the words pour out of her, maintaining a unique style of writing that’s incomparable.
“Honestly, I don’t have a specific thought process. My mind can be my peace and my greatest gift. However, the thoughts in my mind can also be extremely chaotic. I have to write words down whenever they come to me. I can be sitting in class, in a meeting at work, or at dinner with friends. But, when an idea comes to me, I have to jot it down even if that means getting back to it later. I can’t ignore it or it is possible that I may forget it. I can’t just sit down and write something specific, unless it is a topic that doesn’t incite much emotion, which is pretty impossible for me. I can’t write a poem or any writings unless I feel something strongly. I don’t force myself to write. It just flows out.”
Just like any writer, there’s always someone that inspires them to compose their words in an elegant manner, in which Camaj revealed the influences that have heavily affected her writing.
“God and my soul. Without God, I wouldn’t have this gift. Without having found my soul, I wouldn’t have been able to write in the way that I do. I wouldn’t be in touch with myself and my emotions. Outside of that, I absolutely love Emily Brontë, Pablo Neruda, Charles Bukowski, and last, but definitely not least, Tupac Shakur,” expressed Camaj.
To her, love is the most powerful thing in the world, and that’s why it’s always a continuing theme in her works, constantly affecting the way she pours out her emotions into the pieces of writing.
“How can love not be the most powerful thing in the world? Take one person and empty them of love. They will lose their humanity. They become almost crippled, internally. Take that same person and fill them up with love. They will be unstoppable. Now, imagine if everyone in the world would use their hearts to their full potential. Imagine if everyone would love. Imagine how we would be as people. There would be no more wars. There would be no more destruction. We would prosper as people. So many problems would be fixed,” said the writer.
“I think that love is the most powerful thing in the world because nothing can destroy it. The body eventually leaves this earth. But, love still lives here. For generations, nothing has been able to get rid of it. Humans leave. Love survives. It can’t be destroyed. If we were full of love, I am convinced that we wouldn’t destroy each other.”
As I mentioned before, her writing has struck a chord with a plethora of readers across the globe, forever inspired by the way Camaj is able to exquisitely articulate her emotions and thoughts into her work.
“I have always said that if I can help one person out, especially if that person is a kid, it is enough for me. My main goal is to make people feel. I think that in this society, especially, a lot of people want to hide their emotions. A lot of people are scared to talk about love. They are scared to be love’s warriors. I have made many people feel more and embrace their emotions more. I hold that close to me,” revealed Magi.
“Additionally, some people have told me that my writing has helped them get through their depression. They have told me that my words have saved them. Helping others with their mental health is something that keeps me going. It keeps me writing. Healing with words is an art and I am thankful to God for having given me that gift.”

She calls writing her ‘survival method,’ acknowledging that it is her escape, something we all have, whether it may be with words or something else.
We all have our battles with love, it’s a feeling that’s indescribable in some cases, yet Magi is able to uniquely interpret the feelings onto the paper.
Camaj believes that everyone should know her through her words and how she extracts emotions from her pieces, rather than her credentials itself.
It’s incontestable that her writing has sparked emotion in thousands of people across the world, and we’re sure that you’ve found some inspiration from her words as well.
