On Tuesday night, ‘America’s Got Talent’ experienced a shocking moment when a trapeze trick turned into an almost death experience as the camera rolled.

Mary and Tyce who are husband and wife performed a trapeze trick that initially left judges mouth-opened as they performed gravity-defying tricks above the stage, which was on point throughout the whole time.
But their tricks met difficulties, even more so as Tyce is legally blind in his right eye due to a progressive eye disease.
When their final big trick approached, Tyce blindfolded himself as he hung upside down and prepared to catch his wife.

During the trick, Mary fell backward so Tyce could catch her by her ankles, but she slipped thus falling heavily to the ground.
As she plunged to the ground, everyone was screaming in the audience and the judges.
But the most horrified were Mary’s mother and her 2-year-old son, Jaxx, who were watching from the audience and feared the worst. However, the visibly shocked granny grabbed the little boy close before covering her face.
Luckily, Mary landed on a heavy safety mat, making her fall very painful but not as horrific as it looked.
However, a few seconds after the fall, Mary stood up and ensured the crowd that she was not seriously injured. As her husband was brought down, he passionately embraced and kissed her.
While they were both shaken, they were also determined to do the trapeze trick once again, but the judges immediately shut down the idea.
Mel B yelled:
“No, it’s fine!”
And actor Ken Jeong who was guest hosting Tuesday insisted that it would not be necessary.
He consoled the couple saying:
“This is not America’s Got Perfection, it’s America’s Got Talent, nobody can do this.”
Approving Ken’s statements, Simon Cowell also said that everyone makes mistakes on the AGT stage, although the trapeze act could have had more serious consequences than just being an off-key act, as Mary almost “broke her neck.”
Howie Mandel told Mary, who was in tears:
“You almost got hurt very badly and your first thought was ‘Let me do that again!’ only on America’s Got Talent does that happen.”
Model Heidi Klum praised their passion, despite what happened, and Cowell told them they would be moving forward to the live rounds at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood.
This could have gone way too wrong. So close.
