Looks like 2019 has hit us with a new meaning to the term ‘fit and flare’. Do you know how people tell you to think outside the box? Well, that’s exactly what designer Ksenia Schnaider is doing, only with jeans. She decided to give us, something I don’t think we are ready for: asymmetric jeans, which is a version of denim that combines both a fitted leg and flared leg in one single pant. Yeah…I don’t know how I feel about that.
In case you’re feeling lost by whole this, you are not in it alone. Since the jeans have made it to social media, you’d be sure people would be opinionated and very loud about it. Some people even called the ‘trend’ as ‘freaky’. See some of their reactions below:

My ancestors fled France due to religious persecution but at least they didn’t have to see asymmetric jeans

Though there was at least one fashion-forward person who embraced the potential of an asymmetric jean trend.

As for what the designer herself said, she claims that some people are actually interested in this style and that she wants to continue to make these pants for a couple of seasons now. Laughing, she told Dazed:
So far, some people have loved the asymmetric jeans, but others have asked me if they’re some kind of joke. I was told the idea was too crazy and that nobody needs jeans like this, so I gave up on the idea for a couple of seasons.
but in the end, I decided to go for it. It’s good to get people talking, and they’re definitely going to make people turn their heads as you walk by!
Well, judging by the looks of it, she is actually right.
