While all dogs everywhere are cute and adorable, no one can deny that the puppy known as Boo, who took the world by storm with his tiny, toy-like appearance a few years ago definitely deserves the title of the world’s cutest puppy.
And it looks like 2019 will see a little less light as Boo the Pomeranian has unfortunately just passed away. The pup peacefully passed away in his sleep after suffering from heart issues. He was 12 years old.
His owners took to the Facebook page dedicated to the adorable Pomeranian to share the sad news, writing:
With deepest sadness I wanted to share that Boo passed away in his sleep early this morning and has left us to join his best friend, Buddy. Our family is heartbroken, but we find comfort knowing that he is no longer in any pain or discomfort. We know that Buddy was the first to greet him on the other side of that rainbow bridge, and this is likely the most excited either of them have been in a long time.
His death comes a year after that of his companion Buddy, and his owners believe that Boo might have actually passed from a broken heart.
Shortly after Buddy died, Boo showed signs of heart issues. We think his heart literally broke when Buddy left us. He hung on and gave us over a year. But it looks like it was his time, and I’m sure it was a most joyous moment for them when they saw each other in heaven.
The post goes on to explain how Boo has met some amazing people throughout the years, “friends who gave him endless love, people who prioritized his comfort over getting that perfect picture, partners who understood that Buddy ALWAYS had to be included.”
The post, which is signed off by “Boo’s humans”, concludes:
Boo, we love you with all our hearts and will miss you until the day we meet again. Have fun running around with Buddy and creating adorable mischief wherever you guys go. Thank you to all of you for following along on their silly adventures over the past 10 years. They sure had a LOT of fun.
Boo, whose picture is the first Google result if you search “world’s cutest dog”, was also appointed as Virgin America’s Official Pet Liaison in 2012, and had a book deal, including one called “Boo: The Life of the World’s Cutest Dog,” which was published in 2011.

Deepest condolences to Boo’s humans, and to everyone who loved him. The world is already a bit dimmer. But as his owners said, at least he’s with his best friend now.
