Bristol Palin’s time one Teen Mom OG is coming to an end.
The 28-year-old took to Instagram to announce that she is quitting the show after just one season. The Teen Mom star revealed in a lengthy post that the show “wasn’t a fit for her,” so she decided to step away and let “God to rebuild me.”
On Monday evening, Bristol explained to her fans why she was leaving Teen Mom OG, writing:
Teen mom OG wasn’t a fit for me, it took away my peace.. and honestly – my peace has a price tag that no one but God can afford.
$ doesn’t impress me, I don’t entertain bs, and walking away from this show allows God to rebuild me (and my little fam) in the right direction.
The mother-of-three wrapped up her lengthy caption by praising her fellow co-stars in the show, Maci Bookout, Catelynn Baltierra, Amber Portwood, and Cheyenne Floyd, saying:
I have love for all the girls on the show, and wish them the best of luck in all their future endeavors!!
In 2018, it was revealed that Bristol would be part of the upcoming season of the MTV show. The news didn’t sit well with the fellow cast members who were “surprised and shocked” with the fact that Bristol would be joining them, rather than someone else from the Teen Mom franchise, according to E! News.
Tyler Baltierra – Catelynn’s husband – has previously weighed in on the matter during the “Reality Life With Kate Casey” podcast, saying:
Do I think it’s weird as hell? Absolutely. Do I think it’s a really, like, not a good decision for the franchise? Yeah, but that’s out of my control.
However, Sarah Palin spoke to TMZ just a few days after the announcement and added that she was “proud” of her daughter and that she supported Bristol’s decision to join the show.
[Bristol] sees this as a venue, as a forum for good, to help people in a hurtin’ world so I encourage her to do this. I support her doing this and I’m proud of her.
In May 2018, Bristol shared a picture of herself holding her son, Tripp Johnson, and reflected on the time she found out she was pregnant at only 17. She captioned the post:
10 years ago this week – my life took the biggest possible turn. I was 17 and a junior in high school.. it took hearing your heartbeat for a positive pregnancy test to really mean anything to me.
The 28-year-old went on saying her kids are her “biggest blessing” and thanking God for his plan over “our life.”
Bristol shares two children with ex-husband, Dakota Meyer. In 2015, she gave birth to Sailor Grace Meyer, while in 2017 the couple welcomed their second child together, a daughter named Atlee Bay Meyer.
However, the duo filed for divorce in 2018 after two years of marriage. Bristol also revealed that she sold her ex-husband’s house, explaining that “if I can work (and sell) my ex-husband’s house – I can do anything.”
