Have you ever wanted to work for the Queen herself? Have an insight into the Royal House? Live in the Buckingham Palace? Well, you may just have your chance, since the Royal Household is looking for a new traveling butler to join their team.
In an advert posted in The Royal Household site, they have opened an application for a “Trainee Butler”, which will be living in the Buckingham Palace, working full time (five days a week), and will have an annual salary of £19,935.80, which includes “15% employer contribution pension scheme, plus benefits.” Your meals will also be provided.
You would be working for The Master of the Household’s Department, which manages all aspects of hospitality across the Royal residences, where you’ll be expected to deliver “hospitality service to the highest standard” in different types of functions like official lunches, to state occasions, and provide “an exceptional guest experience for all.”
But before that, you will be prepared and trained in order to ” learn all the specialist professional skills needed to make sure presentation and delivery is seamless.” The ad continues:
In an environment where development and training is commonplace, you’ll grow your skills quickly. We’ll be with you every step of the way, and after initial training, you’ll be supported to achieve an accredited Butlering qualification too.
And the best part is that you would also have the opportunity to travel with the Royal Family, as the ad continues, “whether you’re based in London or travelling to other locations, you’ll look forward to whatever challenge comes your way.”
As for the qualities they are looking in their new employee, they say they are more interested in your “proactive approach and ability to tackle new challenges” than any previous experience.
“Most important is that you’re an outstanding team player who enjoys working alongside others every day.” the adds goes on. “This, along with a helpful and supportive attitude, will be key.” They also emphasize you will need to have attention to detail and accuracy and work to a consistently high standard, but considering it’s the Royal Family we’re talking about that’s not surprising.
If you want to apply, you can do it here. You only have time until February 17, and good luck to you!
