5-Tier Cheese Wedding Cake From Costco Is Straight Out Of A Cheese-Lover’s Dream

“The poets have been mysteriously silent on the subject of cheese.” -Gilbert K. Chesterton

While the poets might have been silent about the subject of cheese, I will not keep do so. Cheese is the one thing that makes my meals better. Truly. Boring pasta? Add cheese. Boring movie? Snack up some cheese. Boring life? CHEESE!

Oh, a boring wedding ceremony? Just take this wedding cake from Costco that’s made out of five different types of… guess what? Cheese!

Yup, that’s real. See below:

The cake has five tiers. The bottom layer is 8 pounds of Red Leicester, then there are 7 pounds of Danish Blue, 5 pounds of Murcia al Vino, 3 pounds of Tuscan Sheep’s Cheese, and a pound of Brillat-Savarin Triple Cream Brie on top! Dreamy, right?

You can order the cake at Costco, and it’s from specialty foods company Sid Wainer & Son. It comes to about 24 pounds and it serves from 105 to 150 people. And you have to put the round cheeses together and decorate them just the way you want to. Flowers and all that!

When it comes to the pricing, you can get the cheese wedding cake for $439.99, including shipping.

Daily dose of facts: Did you know that cheese caves actually exist? I mean, research has shown that storing cheese in caves helps to age and impart another level of flavor. Due to the cool and humid atmosphere in caves, the cheese will age properly. American cheesemakers usually construct their own cheese caves today by regulating the temperatures and humidity levels of the place.
