If you think you are hearing voices, you are not going mad. It’s just the breaking sound of many Sephora lovers’ hearts. You might ask why? Well, as it appears from a photo taken in a Sephora store last week, every single tester of Makeup For Ever eyeshadow has been transformed to a rainbow blending. It was not for experimental purposes, but rather a disastrous accident by some culprit heathen.
But according to Brittney Nelson, a Sephora shopper and the one who took the shot, the heartless person who committed the deed was actually a small kid who was temporarily left unsupervised by his or her mother. The photo was shared over 25,000 times.
She took to Facebook to share the picture and alongside it wrote:
$1300 of Make Up Forever eyeshadow destroyed at Sephora tonight due to a small child. I’m sure he/she thought they were like finger paints and had no idea how naughty they were being. Tons of destroyed product and pissed Sephora cast members are a not a happy place to be.
Brittney estimated that the destroyed makeup amounts to about $1,300 (£980.24).
“It looked 100 times worse in real life and I don’t work for Sephora,” she continued.
The shared picture evoked many reactions, some of which you will see below:
I just saw a post of the tester shadows at Sephora being destroyed by some kid while the mom shops and I’m so TRIGGERED

Brittney also suggested that mothers should shop for their makeup without their children, as to avoid such atrocious accidents.
Mammas, please shop for your makeup without your tiny humans. It’s not fun for you…or them…or the expensive product.
This also incited many reactions:
It’s not easy to just leave your kids behind. The note should be to make sure you keep an eye out on your child while you shop https://t.co/EjpNhxwtn5

“Don’t set limitations on women who need to bring their children shopping with them,” reacted one.
Whoever is mad over a child cracking eyeshadow on a Sephora display either doesn’t have kids or thinks they’re holier than thou. Get over yourself, it’s a tester display. Don’t set limitations on women who need to bring their children shopping with them.

Another one told she has 3 small kids, but wherever she goes, she makes sure they are around her. “That woman whose child ruined the Sephora display is careless & self-absorbed,” she said.
I have 3 small kids. Whenever I go anywhere with them, every two minutes (max!!) I’m doing a head count. That woman whose child ruined the Sephora display is careless & self-absorbed. It’s my job to make sure my kids aren’t destroying store property. Period.

If youre going to take a child into a store meant for adults that child should have respect for the things and people around them. This is not a child playing this is a child raised without respect. If your child can’t do that don’t go out with them until then.

For someone else, the whole thing doesn’t pass the sniff test.
@Sephora had cameras everywhere! I’m sorry Sephora this just doesn’t pass the sniff test! If U don’t show the footage blocking the child’s face doing this I have serious doubt about how this happened!

Brittney didn’t really see directly the child doing the act, but she is confident in who is responsible. She told Insider: “We walked in right as a lady and her kid were hustling out of there. The glittery footprints helped us decipher it was a tiny human.”
About the part when she mentioned mother and their kids, Nelson explained what she does when she is with her own child at Sephora. “I’ve needed to bring Allie into many makeup stores as she’s grown and had a strict ‘hands in pockets’ rule for her and a strict 10-minute rule for me,” she wrote. “It was very helpful, so if you must take your kiddos makeup shopping, I suggest trying it.”
We hope the Sephora staff have seen the hack for turning broken eyeshadow into manicure once again.
