A long-distance couple named Rob and Joli Switzer have found a very special way to make their relationship a bit more adventurous. They have decided to meet up in different cities around the world everytime they are reunited, instead of visiting one another in their hometowns, and have done this over the time period of three years.
As told on their blog, they first met in 2010 at a party for travelers in the Philippines, they became friends as kept in contact online. However, to make the relationship work they decided to meet each other in different cities of the world, taking into consideration that Rob lived in the US and Joli lived in the Philippines. The pair told Insider:
“It seems easy looking at these photos now, but what you don’t see is all the crazy travel planning (in different time zones), the visa applications, the long waits between visits, and nights spent apart.”
They got married in June of the year 2017 after they started dating in 2013, and they have by now visited the Philippines, Portugal, Russia, Italy, and so on. But what’s so special about this whole thing, is that they decided to take a picture kissing in the same pose, in each city they visited.
They named the pose ‘dipkiss’, and shared the pictures on Instagram, as well as on their blog, Dipkiss Travels. See some of the pictures below:
1. Boracay Island, Philippines
2. Milan, Italy
3. Belém, Lisbon in Portugal
4. Albuquerque, New Mexico
5. Monument Valley in Utah/Arizona
6. Washington, DC, in the US
7. White Sands, New Mexico
Their story serves to show us how hard work and determination can make things happen. And, so, we wish them all the best in their upcoming adventures.
