One of the best places to go to if you want really inexpensive and strangely useful things is the dollar store. You can literally find anything there, from makeup, to clothes, to kitchen appliances, to school supplies and room decor. Though I would be careful with the makeup…
And even though a lot of the products at the dollar store are actually pretty good considering the price, there are others which, though good if used on their own, they become even better if used on an inexpensive DIY project.
Katie Dennison shared some quick and easy (and obviously cost-efficient) DIY projects that are made with products from the dollar store. Scroll down to see some of the ones which would look amazing on your vanity.
Light Makeup Mirror
If you don’t want to splurge on a LED light makeup mirror, then you can easily make one yourself. If you’ve been to a dollar store, you know they are not short on all different kinds of mirrors. For this project, you will need one of these small, table top mirrors.
Next, you can also find these battery-operated lights which come with an adhesive on the back.
Just peel off the backing, stick it on the mirror where it best suits you, and you’ll have your own 2-dollar lighted makeup mirror.
You’re now basically a makeup guru!
Makeup Brush Holder
Any makeup enthusiast knows there’s nothing more fun than organizing all of your makeup, and if you have a particularly pretty makeup brush set, you want them on display at all times.
For this project, just find a small fish bowl from the dollar store, and one of those packs of colorful glass beads.
And then it’s the easiest thing in the world: just fill the bowl with the beads and pop in your brushes, and no one will think you got all those from the dollar store.
Nail Care Storage
If you have a lot of nail products, you’ll want a place to store them all so you can have all your things in one accessible place. For this project, you will need a basket and a pack of cork tiles.
Just place the basket on top of your cork tile and trace the size you need for the bottom, then put it and place it inside.
Then just add all your nail polishes, nail files, and whatever other nail products you have and you’re good to go.
