September is halfway through, which means we are fast approaching October, which means it’s almost Halloween!
Now, there are many reasons why you should love fall. The weather starts cooling down, which means you can curl up under a blanket with a good book and not feel like you want to die, you can break out your favorite leather jacket, your scarves, and sweaters, and layer your clothes all you want. Then let’s not even get into all the food – apples and squash and pumpkin-everything: pumpkin-spice lattes, pumpkin pie, pumpkin seeds pumpkin beer!
Ahh, fall is great, isn’t it?
But I think we must all agree that nothing sets us in the spirit of the season more than Halloween, right? And mid-September is the perfect time to start thinking about your costume, maybe even getting it ready. I mean, yes, we’ve been looking at Halloween costumes since June, but no one needs to know that, right? Pfft! At least now, no one will look at us weird.
So, if you’ve already started preparing for Halloween, why don’t we take a trip back down memory lane and see just how Halloween costumes looked through the years? Glam, Inc. on YouTube has recreated Halloween costumes spanning the past century, starting from 1915 and all the way to 2015. And we must say, no matter the decade, people sure always knew how to get creative.
Scroll down to see the looks as well as the video at the end, and tell us in the comments, which decade was your favorite? Which was the spookiest and which the least spooky? Did any of them inspire you to recreate them?
The long, black gown, the veil, and the eerie mask are giving us some major creepy-doll vibes.
You can never go wrong with a good ol’ witch costume I say, and it looks like the saying was true back in the 20s as well.
I’m not sure if the purpose of this was meant to be cute, but I never thought I’d see a scary Minnie Mouse costume…
I’ll be honest, I’ve never seen a more adorable devil…
I think the little horse she’s holding is what really makes this costume…
Looks like the classic cat costume we are bound to see so often every year got its start way back in the 60s.
Clowns are creepy in every decade, though with the release of IT, I think we’re bound to see quite a few creepy clown costumes this Halloween.
This Greek-goddess costume is super easy to pull off if you’re in a hurry – and it’s cute, to boot!
Ahh, a cute bumblebee. Perfect to wear as a costume, but also advocate to save the bees!
Of course, you would see a Britney Spears costume in the early 2000s. Hell, we see them even now.
And let’s finish the list off with another iconic figure, this time from the 2010s… Kim Kardashian of course, and her Internet-breaking picture.
Watch the video below to see how they pulled off the looks:
