To say that this Portland woman’s proposal was magical is such an understatement. Kelsey Stacy thought that she was dressing up for a Halloween party as Astoria, Draco Malfoy’s future wife, but boy was she wrong, as she was sent on an adventure hunt around town where she picked up copies of Harry Potter books with sweet messages inside. Eventually, the messages led her to her girlfriend, Heather Pearson, who was dressed up as Draco Malfoy.
Pearson, along with all their friends gave Kelsey her favorite installment, ‘Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.’ As Kelsey opened the book, all the pages were fashioned to spell out ‘Marry me’. Heather told Stacy before she agreed:
I am so excited to be engaged to you and to continue this journey that we’ve been on these three years. Please make me the happiest girl in the world and marry me.

In a YouTube video, Heather explained that it took her all year to plan the engagement, however, when she discovered an artisan on Instagram that designs notes in books, she knew that that was how she wanted to propose to her Harry Potter-loving girlfriend. Also, she asked Kelsey to plan her own proposal, unknowingly, by suggesting they throw a Harry Potter-themed Halloween party. On her way to the party, Kelsey’s friends took her on the hunting tour. Speaking about her beloved, Heather explained:
Growing up, I’ve never pictured what my grown-up life would look like – getting married, starting a family. I never pictured our wedding, I never pictured what my wife would look like. But when I met Kelsey and every day since, I’ve known, this is it.
Even author J. K. Rowling took the chance to congratulate the newly engaged couple.
