On Friday, the 47-year-old actress and businesswoman Jada Pinkett Smith opened up about her future with the actor Will Smith in a teaser for her Facebook Watch series Red Table Talk. The couple has been married since 1997, and have two children together.
Talking about a possible split up Jada said:
‘or me personally, I’m not mature enough to have a divorce. I’m just not. I don’t think I would ever be mature enough. I don’t.
The duo has spent two decades together and recently started the second year of the third one.
The singer Toni Braxton and Jada’s mother Adrienne Banfield-Jones were present in the show, and Braxton was quite surprised with Jada’s revelation about not being mature enough for the divorce.
Jada and Will have been together for 24 years, a thing which in Hollywood relationships means ages.
The 51-year-old singer Braxton was surprised by Jada’s answer and wanted to know why. Braxton divorced in 2013 her husband of 12 years.
Jada then replied to her question: ‘Because when you have to start going in, breaking up assets, that right there…’
Then her mother continued: ‘When you have to start to divide things, separate, cut off…’
Pinkett Smith approved her mother’s words and added jokingly knocking on the red table:
Let me tell you, that’s when the red table turns upside down and it won’t be red no more. This’ll be smashed in shambles. You know what I’m saying?’
The actor Will Smith was also present on the Facebook program just last month and he talked about the same issue, stating:
You know why I haven’t gotten a divorce? Because I have never found anybody like you, and I knew if I wasn’t with you, I’d be searching in vain for the rest of my life.
Smiths’ also talked about a time when they broke up and got back together again as they “had to rebuild with new rules and something way completely different.” They look so in love together now!
