Think back, what was the last present you gave your special other? Was it a small but sweet token? Something a bit more extravagant in the form of jewelry, or maybe you even took them to a fancy restaurant.
Well, no matter the case, we doubt that it could have beat what Kanye West gifted once his wife, beauty mogul and reality star, Kim Kardashian West.
What was that, you ask? Well, apparently, for one Mother’s Day Kanye gave Kim a check for one million dollars – and shared ownership of his company, Yeezy. The KKW Beauty owner revealed all this during an appearance on the Pretty Big Deal With Ashley Graham podcast. She explained how a brand had offered her a million dollars to promote their clothing, and while keeping the company secret, she explained that they usually sell “knock-off Yeezy.”
So, when asking her husband, who she referred to as “the cutest”, how he’d feel if she took the deal, he apparently said, ‘No babe. I really don’t want you to do that.’
“Understandable,” Kim continued. “But that’s a lot of money.”
Kim then went on:
Mother’s Day was like the next week. Mother’s Day comes and he happened to be recording out of town and I get my flowers and then I get an envelope delivered to the door. I opened the envelope and it was a million dollar check with a note saying thank you for always supporting me and not posting. And then, in the rest of the envelope, it was a contract to be an owner of Yeezy—to have my percentage. And that was my Mother’s Day present.
So, did she cash the check, you may wonder. Well, she sure did.
Kim also talked about how a lot of the clothes she, and her sisters, wear go on to inspire knock-off online. (Sometimes extremely fast, as we’ve all noticed.) Like the pink Yeezy dress that she wore for Kylie Jenner’s 21st birthday party.

I said, ‘What we should do is have them pre-made. We know what we’re wearing and sell them on the site after.’ And he said, ‘No babe. I don’t really do dresses. That was just for you. Let them copy. It doesn’t really matter. He doesn’t really care, but a lot of them are Yeezy influence.
Well, I guess with their bank accounts, a $1 million check is like a $20 gift card for the rest of us common folks, eh?
