Kate Hudson is the mom of a teenager, a seven-year-old and a newborn, but she has claimed that she feels as if she was a “teen mom.”
The 39-year-old actress welcomed her first child, Ryder Robinson, at the age of 24. Contrary to many other Hollywood actresses who tended to wait until their late ’20s or ’30s to start a family and instead they focus on their careers.
Hudson turns 40 this week. She gave birth in October to her first daughter Rani Rose. Rani is the third child and her first baby with boyfriend Danny Fujikawa. Little Rani joined the now-15-year-old Ryder, Hudson’s son with ex-husband Chris Robinson, and the 7-year-old son, Bingham Bellamy, with her ex-fiancé, Matt Bellamy.
On Friday, in an interview for LIVE with Kelly and Ryan, the actress claimed:
I was like 12 when I [had him]…In terms of like a Hollywood actress, I was like a teen mom. Me and Reese Witherspoon were like teen moms. We had kids really super young.

In the interview, Hudson kiddingly said that she feels like she has way too many children:
It feels like I have 500 kids. Everyone’s like, ‘How are you?’ And I’m like, ‘Exhausted. I’m so tired.
Hudson then continues talking about her eldest child and then how it feels to deal with everything on top of being a mom. She also said that she now relies on her eldest to look after his youngest:
“Ryder’s 15, which is crazy, I mean, it’s like, I mean, he is almost, he’s getting up to six feet and he’s such a great boy, young man. The other day we went to breakfast and I was juggling a million things and I think it’s like, really wise to go alone with three kids…and the next thing you know, I’m not eating, I’m juggling everything and I go to Ryder, [say] ‘Just take Rani,’ and I went to get my food at the buffet, and I looked over and here is this young man holding his sister.

It was the craziest image to me and I just thought, life is really weird.
How adorable are her kids though?
