Katy Perry Offered A Date With Her Boyfriend, Orlando Bloom, And Outbid A Fan Who Offered $20,000

Katy Perry offered a date with her boyfriend, Orlando Bloom, at a charity auction.

The charity auction was held to raise money for the people who were affected by the Woolsey fire a while ago. Katy Perry decided to offer a date with her boyfriend, Orlando Bloom, and the date would be won by the person offering the most money. Hmm…

Apparently, one fan bid $20,000 but Katy Perry outbid her at the last minute, offering $50,000 herself. But, even though the money went for charity, Katy Perry’s actions were criticized by fans quite a lot.

The 34-year-old was performing at One Love Malibu, more specifically a fundraiser in King Gillette Ranch in Calabasas. However, Katy Perry decided to offer a date with her actor boyfriend, Orlando Bloom, a date that would include a motorcycle ride and lunch.

She said:

You’re holding him in a way that I am not excited about. You’re holding his pecs and his six-pack — and it’s so glorious! You get to hold on to Orlando for about 45 minutes… and then, you get to stare into his brown eyes!

Reportedly, the bidding reached $20,000, from a fan named Laura. But seems like Katy Perry wasn’t all that exciting about it. She said:

Laura, I’m sorry. I’m buying it for $50,000.

She then dropped the mic and walked off the stage.

People, on one hand, have praised the pop singer for donating this large amount of money. However, on the other hand, other people have criticized her for being too protective of Bloom, and this way ruining a fan’s dream. See below for the reactions:

“A whole new level of ‘stay away from my man’,” someone wrote.

“I’m pretty sure she didn’t have to bid to snag a date with him. However, since it goes to charity I guess it’s a win…except for the FAN, who may NEVER get a chance,” someone else added.
