Today we’re talking about the milestone that is having a baby. How it changes our decisions, thinking, perspective, and most importantly, it changes our lives. From the moment you find out you’re growing a tiny little human inside you, to having it in your arms for the first time, there are only a few moments that compare to that wonderful feeling.
Now, when it comes to changes, we’re not only referring to decisions, perspective and all that, but also to our day-to-day life, including the sleep schedule, weekend parties and so much more. There will be parents who will manage just fine. However, there will also be others struggling. And because this can affect our overall health, it’s better to be prepared and know what to expect.
And in case you want a comparison as to what your life will be after welcoming a baby, take a look below.
1. The alarm clock
Gone are the days when you would snuggle in your bed for hours after waking up, unable to detach yourself from the so-comfy bed. After having the baby, you’ll become an early bird, of course, that only counts if you’ve actually slept through the night. And guess what, you won’t even need an alarm anymore. At least there’s that.
2. Your morning routine
While your morning routine consisted of brushing your teeth, pampering your skin and fixing your hair for the day, after having the baby, you won’t even have time to brush your teeth sometimes, and the pampering now consists of splashing your face with water.
3. Breakfast, Lunch, And Dinner
You’re probably used to elaborate appetizers and fancy main courses for every meal. And then posting them on social media, sharing the recipes with your friends and family. Well, hopefully, you like sandwiches because they’re about to become your breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Not only you won’t have time to prepare a proper meal, but you’ll probably forget there’s a dining table in your house in the first place.
Vacations with friends, Friday nights out, you can kiss them all goodbye. After having the baby all you will need is some me-time, and that’s not bad at all, to be honest.
5. Your Car
While your car used to be like a mini shopping center from all the clothes and makeup you would find there, after having the baby you won’t even remember how your car used to look before. Now it’s all baby stuff, starting from the car seat, to the sign attached on the window that reads Baby On Board.
Remember how your closet used to be full of latest fashion trend clothes for every season?! You probably don’t because your shopping list is now all baby items, and your fashion trend consists of whatever you find first when you open the closet.
7. Weekend Plans
What weekend plans?! Oh, you mean when you used to go dancing and having a karaoke night with your friends. Well, now it’s all lullabies and dances that will make your baby laugh, and trust us, you don’t have to have a Madonna voice to make your baby giggle. You’ll love that!
As drastic as these changes might be, you’ll forget everything the moment you see your baby smile or happy. And remember, there’s no greater joy than spending time with the human you helped bring into this world.
