I remember when I had long hair and was kinda stuck in a contemplating state of getting my long hair chopped into a bob. This sounds so cliche but after a breakup and a serious case of binging on Ben and Jerry’s, I was desperate to shake things up. But when it was almost time for my hair salon appointment, I chickened out and showered her with a million excuses and apologizes as to why I wouldn’t make it. I’ve always had the same hairstyle, long-boring-a few inches down my shoulder-hair that I used to straighten every day. Until one day, I didn’t. I discussed all my fears and insecurities with my hairdresser and finally decided on the right length. I went for a lob (that was huge for me back then, seriously) and as I saw my hair falling down on the floor, my anxiety crept in. *what if it doesn’t look good* *I don’t cope well with change* *what if it’s too short for a ponytail* *what if it doesn’t look good on messy/curly hair days*
As soon as she was done with chopping my hair, I texted a photo to my mom, my best friend, and my current boyfriend. They loved it and showered me with compliments that gave me just the confidence boost I needed. That hairstyle looks fierce at all times, but after realizing I could do it, chop my long hair short, I decided to give it one more try, and go with lob’s first cousin, bob. The lazy girl I am, I can say that it looks good no matter how you style it, be it pin-straight or beach waves or just a messy bun. Anyway, this isn’t about me, this is about these brave-hearted girls (like me ;)) who cut off their long hair short. Watch the photos and videos below, because I know I felt this at a personal level:
Super worthy though. She looks amazing
OMG, look at her braid though!
Very chic and trendy.
