Marriage is something that more and more people seem to do wrong. And that’s especially noticeable in Hollywood, or in the music industry. For one reason or another, celebrities are finding it really difficult to maintain relationships, let alone a marriage.
But lately, some people seem to have gotten it right (like Barbra Streisand, of whom we wrote recently too). Well, seems like we have to add Justin Timberlake to this list too!
The thirty-six-year-old pop star married Jessica Biel back in 2012. Even then though, one could tell that the two had good taste – they said their marital vows in the Italian countryside. And now, five years later, the celebrity husband and wife are doing great.
Their marriage is holding up just fine:
In a recent interview with Marie Claire, the actress shed some light on her marriage with the smooth “Cry Me A River” hitmaker. Biel, thirty-five, said:
“We have similar values; we believe in loyalty, honesty. We like to have fun. We like a lot of the same things. Also, in the business, we’re all very career-oriented, and you have to be a little selfish. I understand that about my peers — about being focused and driven — and if you can find that and someone who shares the same values as you, it’s like: Score!”
They’re pretty down to earth!
You make me laugh. You make me smile. You make me LOVE. You make me want to be BETTER. Speaking of, it doesn’t get any BETTER than you… Now, I know for sure that it’s BETTER to be lucky than good. Ask me who the luckiest guy in the world is and I will tell you that you are looking at him. Happy Birthday, my heart. –J
But her husband had something to say, too. During an interview for his latest film, Wonder Wheel, the actor-singer claimed that the secret to a happy marriage was to keep dating. And no, not other people – but each other.
“If I haven’t dated in awhile. I’m a little out of date with dating,” Justin said humorously. “That’s always my rule, even when you get married you have to keep dating.”
And honestly, that’s probably the best advice I’ve heard. Plus, it gives the two of you something fun to do, instead of shutting yourselves at home and slowly going crazy and resentful.
Yes, date even when you have kids!
“It’s just the difference comes when you have kids you have to actually schedule the date,” Timberlake added. He then went on to explain: “So when you say you’re going out at 6.30pm, you need to go out at 6.30pm.”
If you lasted this far, Justin, I think you’ll be just fine! And thanks for the tip.
