Normally, when you sign up for a cruise, you imagine it will be a trip you’ll remember for life. But you know what else you should remember?! That other passengers might not be there to enjoy the five-star experience, but instead, they think it’s more fun to make a complete fool of themselves.
Just like Nick Naydev who decided to jump off the 11th story (more than 30 meters) balcony of the Symphony Of The Seas.
The 27-year-old was from Vancouver, Washington, and joined the cruise ship which was headed for the Bahamas.
His friends filmed the careless stunt, which he later uploaded on Instagram because apparently, that’s the best way to get some attention. And he got it.

From the video, you can see Naydev climbing on top of the balcony railing as he smiles at the camera. His friends are cracking up laughing and exclaim “F***ing Nick,” just as he jumps into the sea.
Because the camera didn’t tilt down enough, we can’t really see the moment he bumped into the water. However, there’s a second video that shows the 27-year-old swimming in the sea while the cruise ship officials yell at his friends.
From the comments on the footage he posted, Naydev explained he was drunk from the night before. And while he survived the jump, Naydev added:
When I sobered up my back started hurting pretty bad. Could barely walk for three days and could barely sleep from the pain.
He was carried by a rescue boat and brought back to the ship by cops, where they told him to gather his things and leave.
Konstantin Kryachun, the guy who filmed the jump, spoke to Yahoo, saying:
He’s jumped from those kind of heights before, and we didn’t really care about the consequences with the cruise company. We just wanted to get a video of it and make it go viral.
Their wish came true as the video indeed went viral with more than 118,000 views on Instagram. But Naydev was banned from traveling on Royal Caribbean cruise for the rest of his life.
A spokesperson from the Royal Caribbean told the Sun:
This was stupid and reckless behavior and he and his companions have been banned from ever sailing with us again. We are exploring legal action.
Many of the comments on his post were not so positive either.
Poster child for birth control.
While another one said:
This is why we can’t have nice things, dumbass ppl ruin shit for everyone else. Hope that landing made him sterile, so he’ll never have to procreate and spread his abomination.
