Netflix Has Delivered A Knockout Cancellation Punch To Marvel’s Iron Fist

This might be a shocking news to all the fans but Marvel’s Iron Fist, has been canceled by Netflix. Only after two seasons launched on Netflix, Danny Ran’s adventures have come to an end as the streaming service has delivered a knockout cancellation punch to Marvel’s Iron Fist.

The series which include Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, The Punisher and Daredevil, was a major part of Marvel’s Netflix output alongside shows.

Iron Fist has been canceled with Disney and Netflix issuing a joint statement only weeks after the second season of Iron Fist debuted.

In a statement provided to Deadline, it is said that Marvel’s Iron Fist won’t return for a third season on Netflix. Nevertheless, they admitted that this is the fir time Netflix and Disney have canceled one of their Marvel programmes.

This is how the statement, provided to Deadline, read:

Marvel’s Iron Fist will not return for a third season on Netflix. Everyone at Marvel Television and Netflix is proud of the series and grateful for all of the hard work from our incredible cast, crew, and showrunners.

We’re thankful to the fans who have watched these two seasons, and for the partnership, we’ve shared on this series. While the series on Netflix has ended, the immortal Iron Fist will live on.

This is the first time Netflix and Disney have canceled one of their Marvel programmes which have come as a hard blow to those involved on the show.

The worst thing about this occurrence is that, according to the Deadline report, the cast members weren’t informed about this only a few hours before the cancellation was announced to the world.

Many of the Marvel’s Fist took to social media to share their disappointment. They emphasized the fact of how the second season was doing so much better and they could actually notice improvements.

Walt, a Twitter user had something to say about this all:

This really sucks. Iron Fist got so much better in its second season.

Honestly, the best move they can make now is turning Luke Cage into Heroes for Hire. Luke Cage season two was mediocre, but its Iron Fist team-up episode was fantastic.

Even the actor Finn Jones, who’s the Iron Fist himself, had something to say while reacting to the news online. He didn’t hold back to tell everyone how thankful he is to have had the opportunity – in an Instagram post.

Jones shared a photo of his character alongside with the word “immortal” taking center stage.

With every end is a new beginning. I have an enormous amount of love and respect for everyone involved with the last two seasons of this show.

Defending the greatest city in the world amongst the most talented and warmest people has been a privilege and a joy. Blessed to have taken this journey and grateful for the ongoing support.

The cancellation has brought into question the future of Netflix’s Marvel crossover series The Defenders which saw Iron Fist team up with Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Daredevil.

All that is left for us to do it wait and see whether Iron Fist truly is immortal.
