Michelle Obama is the wife of former U.S. President Barack Obama, but prior to being the first lady, she was a lawyer, Chicago city administrator and community outreach worker.
Despite being the former first lady of the United States of America, Michelle is just so awesome that whenever she’s talking, you always feel like the two of you could be best friends. Is it just me? Probably not. The point is that whether she’s speaking to students, the military or celebrity attendees, this woman always appears to be talking specifically to each of us. By sharing her own experiences, she inexplicably reaches into our own experiences. Michelle Obama will always inspire us to be better and to give all that we’ve got, whatever that may be.
She was born into a middle-class family on the south side of Chicago and carved an extraordinary success through hard work and dedication, thus, boldly challenging the status quo throughout her life. Despite her parents never went to college, they did instill in her a deep desire to keep learning. Thus, she was an Ivy-league graduate, a successful former lawyer, and now she is an advocate for women’s rights, accessible education, LGBTQ equality, gun control, wellness, marriage, and family.
Talking about marriages, Michelle Obama is now about to launch her stadium tour which could rival any of your favorite rock band, but she has a much more intimate ring to it: officiating weddings.
On Saturday, the former FLOTUS did the honors in Chicago for Stephanie Rivkin and Joel Sircus. The bride’s pop is the Deputy Mayor of Chicago, which makes sense, considering Michelle’s deep roots in Chicago.
Fun fact: Not that it’s relatable, but both the bride and groom graduated cum laude from Yale.
On her stadium tour which will launch the sale of her memoir called “Becoming”, Michelle will hit 10 U.S. cities.
You can’t help but love this woman, am I right?
