Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth just made their first public appearance together since tying the knot in a secret ceremony back in late December. The newlyweds attended the 16th Annual G’Day USA Gala in Los Angeles this Saturday evening, where the 29-year-old Australian actor was honored for his achievements in the creative arts.
While the two looked very cozy as they sat close together during the event, according to Australia’s Hunter Valley News, they entered the ceremony separately, with Miley, 26, forgoing the red carpet and meeting her husband inside.
During the show, Hemsworth, who’s known for his roles in The Hunger Games series and Independence Day: Resurgence, was awarded the G’Day USA Excellence in Film award to honor his outstanding performances in films.
The Melbourne born star was one of the three Australian artists to be honored at the gala event for their exceptional artistry, the others being the distinguished Australian singer Helen Reddy as well as Deborah Riley, who is a production designer for the hit HBO show, Game Of Thrones.
The lovebirds looked as stylish as they did stunning and in love, with the man of the evening clad in a fitted black suit, paired with a white dress shirt and a skinny black tie.
Miley also cut quite the stylish figure in a black velvet dress featuring a low neckline, which she paired black heels as well as an array of gold and silver jewelry. Her outfit allowed the Malibu singer to show off her various tattoos.
Her long dirty blonde hair was loose down her back, but she had pulled them away from her face. Miley finished off her look with a pair of gold hoop earrings and a bold red lip.
Their appearance comes after speculations of a pregnancy, which Cyrus took to social media to promptly shut down. The stars, who met while in 2009 while filming The Last Song, got married on December 23 in a private ceremony with friends and family following a nine-year on-again, off-again relationship.
Also present at the event was Liam’s older brother Luke, who is pictured above (far right) as the two brothers pose with Paul Hogan.
