This Artist Creates Miniature Paintings On The Thin Paper Of Used Tea Bags

“You let it flow from you, you let it flow,
And youth is cruel, and has no remorse
And smiles at situations which it cannot see.”
I smile, of course,
And go on drinking tea.

– T. S. Eliot, Portrait of a Lady

If there’s one thing I really like, it’s tea. Although the world is overwhelmed with the taste of coffee, and with the Hamletian dilemma as to whether which one is better; when it comes to tea the world simply feels calmer, and more at peace. But that’s all about preferences.

A cup of tea can indeed calm you, be it green tea, herbal tea, black tea – it’s one of the beverages that, in one way or another, soothes the soul. Simply imagine coming home from a cold blizzard, and having a nice, warm, cup of tea waiting for you. Or gathering friends in the afternoon for a nice cup of tea, and you talk and share bits and pieces of conversation.

But apart from soothing and warming the soul, people have come to get quite creative and innovative when it comes to other usages of tea, or tea bags more specifically. I did, somehow, tell you that tea has a healing effect, but do you know what else has the same comforting effect on human beings? It’s art. The skill and talent of producing pieces of ambiguous art.

An artist and graphic designer, known as Ruby Silvious creates miniature paintings on the thin paper of the empty and used teabags. It’s fair to say, she has gathered plenty of these masterpieces and has turned her tiny paintings into a book, and it’s all so lovely. Her one-year collection of paintings is called ‘363 Days Of Tea’ and you can purchase it on Amazon. Scroll below to see some of her work:
