But, one mom has a brilliant hack for relieving pain after childbirth that might help a lot of women. Elisa Castellanos shares a DIY recipe on Facebook for speeding up the recovery process.  It’s menstrual pads soaked in aloe called “pad-sicles,”

“To all my pregnant mommy friends… you’ll want to make these before you go into the hospital!!! ‘Pad-sicles’ popsicles for down there to help with the recovery. These were a lifesaver when I had Stella, I’m making some now for a friend and also wanted to share the recipe with all of you. Super fast and easy to make, in 5 minutes I made 20!”

“I got the recipe from Pinterest because you know… I’m a Pinterest loving momma.” she explained.

To make these pad-sicles you’ll need:

Witch hazel, Aloe Vera gel, pads ( you might want to get the night ones) and lavender essential oil (optional)

Here’s how to do it:

First, you need to open the pad and save the wrapper. Then, on each pad add 2tbsp of witch hazel, 1tbsp of Aloe Vera gel, and just a couple of drops of the oil. Mix everything together and wrap the pad back into the paper.

After that store all the pads in a freezer bag and keep them in the freezer.
