Mother Was Bodyshamed In The Supermarket And Her Response Was Perfect

Body shaming is a real issue in our society. Sadly, many people have been victims either in person or via social media. Luckily, there are more and more body positivity movements that try to solve the issue in the most respectable way. One brave woman from Ohio was bodyshamed while shopping, and had the perfect response. Her story should serve as an inspiration to many who have found themselves in a similar situation.

Unfortunately, some people are not fan of body positivity campaigns. For them, body shaming is not a real problem at all.

Recently, a victim of body shaming spoke out about her experience while she went shopping. Here is the brave Charlie Stevens, a mother of two, coming from Ohio.

It was just an ordinary day when Charlie decided to go to a local store and purchase some gift tags. Then, something strange happened. A woman was watching her in a weird way.

Charlie tried to ignore the woman, but she suddenly approached her. Believe it or not, the woman commented that Charlie’s clothing is too small fro her. Here is what Charlie looked like.

Do you see any problems with what she wears? Yeah, me neither. Charlie revealed what the stranger said to her in a Facebook post. It said: “She came up to me and said ‘I think your clothes are a little too small on you.'” Charlie just responded: “Excuse me?” And she said, “well no offense but you’re just a bit big to wear those type of clothes.”

Charlie was very upset by the situation and she went on Facebook to tell her story.

“Usually I’m so quick to lash out at rude people and I’m never shy when it comes down to speaking my mind. But I froze. Froze and cried. She said, “I’m not trying to be mean but maybe just reconsider your outfit before leaving your house from now on.” She walked away and I just stood there at the cart with Grayson looking at me. I was literally crying in the middle of the Christmas aisle at Kroger. I left without buying anything and sat in my car and cried.” Heartbreaking!

Her Facebook post went on:

“Please, PLEASE, have some respect for people. You never know what someone is going through or if your one little comment, snicker, stare, whatever will be enough to break someone down or push them over the edge.”

After her post, people started giving their opinions on Facebook. Some shared immense support.

This person wants to thank Charlie for being an inspiration for others.

Others told her not to care about the other person.

Charlie’s post went viral with more than 4,000 shares. Her response to the body-shamer was more than inspiring.
